We consider the problem of setting approximate confidence intervals for a single parameter in a multiparameter family. A new set of algorithms automates the construction of bootstrap confidence intervals, substituting computer power for the need to individually program particular applications. The BCA (bias-corrected and accelerated) bootstrap method provides second-order accuracy, an order of magnitude improvement over standard intervals.
